Welcome to Crossings

My attempt to write a great sci fi series... based on guys I work with. Most series don't involve potato chip factorys as locations but oh well here we go.

Monday, 5 December 2011

EPISODE THREE, PART FOUR.

21 EXT. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

MURRAY and NIGHTINGALE are still WALKING THROUGH THE CROWDS.

The MAN GLIMPSED in the CROWD from the EARLIER SCENE is FOLLOWING THEM.

The CAMERA CUTS QUICKLY BETWEEN MURRAY and NIGHTINGALE and the MAN in the CROWD.

HOTSHOT

(distorted over radio)

Heimdall, Nightingale, you have a possible hostile on your tail.

MURRAY

Roger that, he’s been following us since we tried to make our wager.

Cover us but don’t get too close. Whoever he is, he appears to be alone. But if he does have back-up, I don’t want to spook them just yet.

HOTSHOT

Roger that.

MURRAY

We’re heading for the paddock.

NIGHTINGALE

Who do you think he is?

MURRAY

Goodness knows. Could be an undercover member of one of the guards regiments, could be a member of the resistance, I’m not even disregarding the idea that Star Chamber have found a way to get through the incursion without us noticing.

But I’m about to find out.

They walk UNDER an ARCHWAY and into A DIMLY LIT ALLEYWAY. The MAN FOLLOWS them in.

MURRAY SPINS ROUND and SLAMS THE MAN up AGAINST A WALL.

MURRAY

Okay, so what’s so interesting about me and the lady that you feel the need to follow our every step. Because where we’re from people don’t take kindly to people stalking like game. So what’s your name and why the interest?

SANBALLAT

My name is Sanballat Simonides and my only interest is in potential customers.

NIGHTINGALE

Excuse me?

SANBALLAT

You want decorative amphoras, I got them, I bring them from my shop in the Capitol. I also make connections between like minded individuals. For a price.

MURRAY puts SANBALLAT DOWN.

MURRAY

Go on, get lost!

NIGHTINGALE

Cal! What are you doing?

MURRAY

What do you mean?

NIGHTINGALE

Like minded individuals. That could mean the Resistance.

MURRAY

I’m pretty certain that’s exactly what he means.

Obvious as his hint was.

But we’re nowhere near the paddock, and that’s where we supposed to meet our contact.

And the Resistance wouldn’t entrust this to a fixer offering contact for a price.

So this is either a Resistance member giving us a test for admittance into their presence, an ordinary common or garden conman trying to make a quick buck or an agent for the Arcadian administration.

So he can either leave and run back to his masters, leave after realising that we have no money on us or we pass the test because any person who would offer money to see the Resistance isn’t worth trusting themselves.

SANBALLAT

You’re right. You’re supposed to meet your contact in the paddock. I was sent to check you out. And I don’t want money for hooking you up with the Resistance. The Liberation Chambers are really cutting into my profit margin, I mean once they’ve been in there what use do they have for a nice decorative amphora. It’s a pity really because I got some great designs in this season. But all they want is statues of death and impalement.

HE LEADS them OUT of the ALLEYWAY.

CUT TO.

22. INT. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

MURRAY, NIGHTINGALE and SANBALLAT are BEING WATCHED THROUGH the LENSES of A PAIR of BINOCULARS.

TINKERBELL is HOLDING THE BINOCULARS. CASPAR is LEANING AGAINST A WALL, FIDDLING with HIS TRACKING DEVICE.

TINKERBELL

Looks like we’ve just made contact. They’re making towards the paddock. We better move in.

Caspar?

CASPAR doesn’t HEAR.

TINKERBELL puts DOWN HER BINOCULARS and TURNS to CASPAR.

TINKERBELL

Would you pay attention!

CASPAR

There’s no need to shout.

TINKERBELL

Come on, we need to get going.

CASPAR

Sure, whatevs.

TINKERBELL SCOWLS at HIM and PICKS UP HER RADIO.

TINKERBELL

(distorted over radio)

Tinkerbell to Hotshot, time to get a little closer to the action. Close in on our guys but lets try not to spook anyone. When we reach the Paddock, take up positions in cover but as close as we can to the exit.

HOTSHOT

Roger that. Moving now.

She PUTS the RADIO DOWN.

TINKERBELL

Lets go.

She WALKS OUT of FRAME. CASPAR follows HER.

TINKERBELL

Will you put that thing down.

23. INT. PREFECTS BOX. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

The PREFECT’S BOX at THE RACEGROUNDS. The PREFECT is the COMMANDER of the IRONSTONE BELT. He is a PORTLY MAN in HIS 50s. He is SAT on A CHAIR on A RAISED DAIS. The ROOM is LIKE a VIEWING BOX in AN EARTH STADIUM.

BEAUTIFUL, SCANTILY CLAD WOMEN are EVERYWHERE. HIGH RANKING MILITARY OFFICERS from all FIVE GUARDS REGIMENTS are SAT AROUND DRINKING, ELABORATE CHALICES in their HANDS. The GIRLS are DRAPED OVER THEM. THE PREFECT is TELLING a DIRTY JOKE. A PARTY ATMOSPHERE is IN FULL SWING.

PREFECT

So she says I thought he said piranha.

EVERYONE LAUGHS.

SUDDENLY the DOOR SLAMS OPEN.

A SQUAD OF OBSIDIAN GUARD MARCH THROUGH.

THE PREFECT MANOEUVERS HIMSELF OUT OF HIS SEAT WITH DIFFICULTY.

PREFECT

What is the meaning of this. How dare you! I will have you all swinging from a gibbet come the morning light. Now what is the meaning of this.

LADY ERIS

(Out Of Shot)

The meaning of this is you’re a fat slovenly fool who shouldn’t be anywhere near a command and are partying in decadence when you have the perfect opportunity on your hands.

PREFECT

Who said that!

LADY ERIS

(Out Of Shot)

I did!

LADY ERIS and DE MORTE MARCH THROUGH the DOORWAY.

PREFECT

Eris, you have overstepped the mark this time. Your position doesn’t allow you to come barging in here. This is a private party and you are not invited.

LADY ERIS

You think I’d want to engage in your sordid little drinking session. Join you in the dereliction of duty?

PREFECT

Under the Articles of Establishment of The Ironstone Belt as a protected monument of the Kingdom of Arcadia, I have the right to use this room for whatever purpose I wish. And you have no right to lecture me on dereliction of duty. This has always been a protected holiday in Arcadia

LADY ERIS

Those Articles mean nothing now. This is a new order. A new time. Some ancient holiday means nothing now.

And you should be on duty at all times. This is a perfect chance to catch the resistance. All of Arcadia is here. People from all four corners of the known world. The resistance are here. It’s the perfect place for a rendezvous. And you should be out scouring the crowd for them. Instead of sitting here, indulging in libidinous vices of the flesh.

PREFECT

After the Chambers most people become a lot more fun but you’ve become ridiculously tiresome.

LADY ERIS

You will assemble the Guard regiments and have them search this place with a fine toothcomb.

The PREFECT SQUARES up to LADY ERIS.

PREFECT

Who do you think you are?!

You have no authority in this matter.

DE MORTE

You want to step back or you’ll lose an arm!

We have all the authority we need.

We are of the Chambers. We are the New Order.

PREFECT

Don’t you dare touch me. You have gone way over the line this time.

LADY ERIS

This party ends now. I’m sweeping the Racegrounds for Resistance members. Either get out of my way or fall in line!

PREFECT

You’re going to regret this.

LADY ERIS

What, not listening to a fat lard bucket like your good self. Somehow I think that’s unlikely.

She TURNS and WALKS OUT OF THE DOOR. DE MORTE and the OBSIDIAN GUARD FOLLOW after her.

PREFECT

You’re going to pay for this!

LADY ERIS

(Out Of Shot)

I look forward to getting the bill.

CUT TO.

24. INT. THE PADDOCK. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

MURRAY, NIGHTINGALE and SANBALLAT walk through THE PADDOCK. An UNDERGROUND ROOM, a CROSS between A STABLES and A GLADIATORS PEN in THE COLISEUM.

SUNLIGHT FILTERS THROUGH from SOMEWHERE ABOVE.

THEY WALK DOWN a LONG CORRIDOR. PENS LINE the SIDES of THE CORRIDOR. UPPER CLASS ARCADIAN MEN and WOMEN LEAN ON the FENCING of the PENS. Each PEN CONTAINS A PIG.

STRAW COVERS the FLOOR. The FLOOR itself is MADE OF FLAGSTONES.

They reach the END OF THE CORRIDOR. A DOOR can be seen in a HIDDEN ALCOVE.

SANBALLAT
In there.

MURRAY
Is there any point in asking you to go first?

SANBALLAT
I let you get this far, what would I gain by double crossing you now?

MURRAY
Although I love your infallible logic, you can go first into the excessively creepy looking door.

SANBALLAT SHRUGS and OPENS the DOOR. HE WALKS through IT. NIGHTINGALE LOOKS at MURRAY.

MURRAY
After you, my dear.

NIGHTINGALE
You sure?

MURRAY
Best I bring up the rear.

NIGHTINGALE
You expecting a reception committee?

MURRAY
If I was bringing in some unknowns to my top secret clubhouse, I know I’d have someone waiting.

NIGHTINGALE
Even if you were some Resistance fighting altruistically for the good of the people.

MURRAY
Especially if I was.

SANBALLAT
(Out of Shot)
Come on through.

NIGHTINGALE
Okay, here goes.

She WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR.

MURRAY
Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more.

Get in there, Murray. You stand here making Shakespeare quotes somebody’s going to mistake you for Patrick Stewart.
Also what’s the point in making pop culture references if no one’s here to hear them.

THE CAMERA CUTS to A VIEW of THE PEOPLE AT the PENS. THEY are STARING at MURRAY.

MURRAY
Or know what the heck I’m talking about.

HE SALUTES the PEOPLE, SMILES and WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR.

INTO.

25. INT. RESISTANCE RENDEZVOUS CHAMBER. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

THE ROOM is BLACK.

MURRAY
Kate? You okay?

NIGHTINGALE
Fine, Cal.

I have been in tactical situations before.

SUDDENLY A LIGHT FLICKERS ON.

NIGHTINGALE
Admittedly, not in such unhygenic conditions.

NIGHTINGALE and MURRAY are KNEELING ON THE FLOOR. The BOOKMAKER from EARLIER and SANBALLAT are STOOD BEHIND THEM. OTHER MEMBERS of THE RESISTANCE are STOOD LEANING AGAINST THE WALLS. The CAMERA PANS AROUND the ENTIRE ROOM.

MURRAY
Because you know that’s the first thing you’re looking for when you’re looking for rendezvous sites, the potential for a fully stocked surgical cold room.

NIGHTINGALE
Are you never going to let that go?

MURRAY
Ordinary couples house hunting for their future marital home don’t tend to harangue the estate agent with requests for the location of the nearest vendors of high end meat lockers!

I’ve never seen a woman so freaked out.

NIGHTINGALE
Estate agent, sometimes I forget how wonderfully British you are. It’s a realtor.

SANBALLAT WALKS around SO THEY CAN SEE HIM.

SANBALLAT
Do you two ever stop.

MURRAY
Darling, do we ever stop?

NIGHTINGALE
Not if we can help it.

MURRAY
So I’d say that’s a no.

NIGHTINGALE
You’ve got us in cuffs, kneeling on the floor, completely helpless. And you expect us to go quietly?

DIETRICH
I wouldn’t.

A FIGURE STANDS SILHOUETTED in the DOORWAY. THIS is DIETRICH.

DIETRICH WALKS into the LIGHT.

DIETRICH is A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL. She IS DRESSED in THE SAME PEASANTS OUTFIT as EVERYONE ELSE. The ONLY DIFFERENCE is THE OUTFIT is TOTALLY BLACK.

DIETRICH
Who are you?

MURRAY
I’m Lieutenant Colonel Caleb Murray and this is Doctor Kate Kelley.

DIETRICH
A military designation? Not one I’ve heard of.

MURRAY
It’s from Earth.

DIETRICH
You’re from Earth?
From beyond the Veil?

You have identification?

MURRAY.
In our top pockets.

DIETRICH
Sanny. Get their identification.

SANBALLAT
Do you really have to call me that?

DIETRICH
You list your occupation as vendor of decorative amphoras and you’re getting annoyed that I’m calling you Sanny?
He retrieves their IDS. HE HANDS THEM to DIETRICH.

SANBALLAT
They could be guardsmen. This place is crawling with them.

DIETRICH.
Well, they’re not Obsidian Guard, I know that much.

If you’re from Earth, why are you here?

MURRAY
To make contact with the resistance.

One of the IDs CATCHES DIETRICH’S EYE.

DIETRICH
So it appears you are Caleb Murray.

MURRAY
I am.

DIETRICH
And what does the infamous Caleb Murray want with the resistance?

MURRAY
Intelligence, And your help.

DIETRICH
The Regent’s Council say that you’ve come to invade. That your whole purpose in being here is the subjugation of the Arcadian people. So tell me, Lieutenant Colonel, am I supposed to help you conquer my people?

CUT TO.

26. INT. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP.DAY.

HANDHELD SHOTS of OBSIDIAN GUARD GATHERING and HERDING CROWDS of PEOPLE INTO CERTAIN PLACES within the RACEGROUNDS.

SPEEDY CUT to A STEADICAM SHOT of HOTSHOT and PLAYBOY. They are CROUCHED UP AGAINST a WALL NEAR the PADDOCK. HOTSHOT is USING BINOCULARS. As HE TALKS TO PLAYBOY, he PUTS THEM DOWN and PICKS THEM UP at INTERVALS, SCANNING THE CROWD.

PLAYBOY
How long they been in there?

HOTSHOT
30 seconds longer than the last time you asked.

PLAYBOY
Why did I have to volunteer for this mission?

HOTSHOT
Same reason I did. You thought it was going to be an easy gig. You didn’t think we were going to be standing about watching nothing happening in stark clarity before us.

PLAYBOY
We should have known something when Cal accepted us on the mission so easily.

HOTSHOT
Take back what I just said. We’ve got movement. A lot of movement!

HE PICKS UP his RADIO.

HOTSHOT
Yo, Tinkerbell, you seeing this?

BLURRED TRANSITION SHOT.

TINKERBELL and CASPAR are CROUCHED NEXT TO EACH OTHER.

TINKERBELL
As you might say, that’s a big 10-4. It looks like the entire Obsidian Guard is out here. And Caspar has just informed me of another worrying development.

HOTSHOT
(distorted over radio)
More worrying than this.

CASPAR
Definitely.

I’ve been scanning with the device that we were able to reverse engineer from Cal’s work on the energy signatures of Arcadian vessels and I’ve got a hit.

HOTSHOT
(distorted over radio)
A hit against what?

CASPAR
An energy signature we’ve encountered before.

PLAYBOY
(distorted over radio)
We destroyed all enemy craft at the incursion point.

TINKERBELL
You’re forgetting the craft that arrived at the hill village minutes after Cal, Dave and Fletcher left it.

It looks like whoever’s giving the Obsidian Guard their orders is crashing the party.

We can’t give Cal and Kate any more time. We need to get out of here now. And their radios are unresponsive. We’ve got to go in.

Okay, rendezvous at the entrance to the paddock. From there, I’m on point, Hotshot, you bring up the rear, Playboy, you make sure Caspar doesn’t do himself a mischief.

PLAYBOY
(distorted over radio)
What?!

TINKERBELL
Get over it. Make sure you announce ourselves first and lets try not to shoot any resistance members if we can help it. We’re trying to gain allies not create another group of enemies for us to deal with.

Let’s move!

CUT TO.

27. INT. RESISTANCE RENDEZVOUS CHAMBER, THE PADDOCK, THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

EVERYONE is in the SAME POSITIONS as in SCENE 25.

MURRAY
I know what you’ve been told. That we’re the vanguard of some foreign army come to conquer and invade Arcadia. But nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact we were the ones invaded. Nearly three months ago now, an elite unit of Obsidian Guard led by Guilliame De Morte came through the newly activated incursion rift, what you call the veil. They attacked a factory of unsuspecting people with no military and slaughtered them.

Only few escaped with their lives, they tried to establish a spearhead on Earth and then when they failed and realised we would retaliate, they started spreading these false accusations about us.

Accusations full of rumour and intrigue, designed to cover their own plans of conquest and domination. Our technology is nowhere near as advanced as your own, we could never hope to take this dimension. Also in our dimension, only a few people on the entire planet know of the existence of the incursion, of inter dimensional travel and of Arcadia.

DIETRICH
But you were here once before. The Regents Council says that you and the alleged traitor Bloodhelm were responsible for the loss of life at the Battle of Five Vales.

MURRAY
And why do you still believe what the Council has to say. You know what the Liberation Chambers do to people.

I was a scientist, a military one its true, but a scientist none the less. When I first stepped through the incursion, I tell you, conquest was the last thing on my mind. I was exploring, testing hypothesis and theories about this gateway I had discovered. This was strictly a scientific endeavour. However we blundered into a world already falling apart.

Any action we took at Five Vales was strictly one of a rearguard with our backs against the wall, simply trying to return home.

We lost good people in that battle.

All we want here is help. We need to know what we’re dealing with, we need to see the end of the Liberation Chambers because if they tried to take Earth once then they will certainly try it again.

Allow us the right to protect ourselves and help you to regain the country you once loved and cherished.

SANBALLAT
(to DIETRICH)
The Obsidian Guard attacking like that, is it possible? And should we trust them.

DIETRICH
Not in the past, no. But look around you, Sanballat. This isn’t the world we knew. We grouped together because we want to see an end to the chambers, a return to what was. We are a resistance organisation, relying on intelligence and stealth. But we’re getting nowhere. We can’t put the intelligence into action. All that we discover about everything that is happening here is useless because we are so few.

The time has come for allies.

SANBALLAT
But isn’t it a risk?

DIETRICH
The time has come for risks. For if we don’t risk it all now then we lose it all forever and all this will have been in vain.

De Morte did take a squad of Techknights and guardsmen on a secret mission about three months ago, twenty or so didn’t come back and we all know that a human craft has been sighted in Arcadia.

Their story is plausible.

They’ve come here voluntarily, they’ve let you take their sidearms from them. They’re bound to have back-up somewhere and yet they haven’t called them in. They have enough evidence to bring all of us into custody if they are from a guards regiment.

SANBALLAT
And if they are from Eris?

DIETRICH
Then we’re dead, but I’d rather die making a move against the chambers then get killed by caution.

Let them go and give them back their sidearms.

The RESISTANCE UNTIE their HANDS and GIVE THEM BACK their WEAPONS.

MURRAY
Thank you, we appreciate the risk you’re taking.

DIETRICH
Don’t thank me yet, I’m only your first contact within the resistance, there are going to be many more people you have to convince of your sincerity, most of them far less trusting than I. All you gained from me is the possibility of an audience and a stay of execution. You do realise that if you cross us you’re dead, right?

MURRAY
Yes, I did get that feeling.

So when do we meet again?

SUDDENLY NOISES can BE HEARD on the OTHER SIDE of the DOOR. IT OPENS and TINKERBELL is lead THROUGH by A RESISTANCE MEMBER.

DIETRICH
What’s this?

RESISTANCE MEMBER
Don’t know, found her and three males skulking around outside.

MURRAY
She’s a part of my team.

I told her to stay put. What are you doing here Tink?

TINKERBELL
We’ve got trouble. Caspar’s device has just registered the same energy signature as the ship that nearly caught you at the hill village. On top of that, Obsidian guard members are making their way through the stadium arresting people as they go. Looks like they’re here to round somebody up and I don’t think its us. But I do think that we need to be going.

SANBALLAT
They must be coming for us. I knew it was a bad idea meeting here.

DIETRICH
If it comes down to that, it’s a bad idea meeting anywhere.

Did you happen to see who was in charge of the Guard?

MURRAY
Major?

TINKERBELL
Demorte and some woman I’ve never seen before, dressed all in black with jet black hair and dark glasses.

MURRAY
That mean anything to you?

DIETRICH
Lady Eris. She’s in charge of the Obsidian Guard. A more evil specimen of humanity you cannot imagine.

MURRAY
I’m presuming that’s a result of the chambers?

DIETRICH
Who knows. With most people you can find out what their identity was before the chambers. Eris just seems to appear out of mid-air two years ago. If she had an identity before then, its well guarded. I’m sorry to cut this lesson short but we need to be going.

MURRAY
How will we get in touch with you.

DIETRICH
You won’t. We’ll contact you.

TINKERBELL
You don’t expect us to accept that do you?

DIETRICH
It doesn’t matter whether you accept it or not, it’s the way its going to be.

TINKERBELL
Why, you!

MURRAY
Major, leave it.

TINKERBELL
Cal, after all we’ve been through you’re not going to let her get away with that.

MURRAY
They’re taking a risk talking to us at all. So stow that attitude, Major, or I’ll do it for you.

Now go make sure that the others haven’t come to mischief… go!

TINKERBELL walks off GRUMBLING in RUSSIAN.

MURRAY
You need to get out of here. Are you going to be able to escape?

DIETRICH
Of course. Eris might be paranoid but she’d never suspect that a lowly yeoman on her ship is a resistance contact.

I’ll just get out the same way I came, on her ship.

TINKERBELL
Colonel, she’s admitting that she’s a member of the Obsidian Guard.

MURRAY
Thank you, Tink. I noticed that. Although you know that I do have problems understanding basic sentences. So I understand why you might have thought I needed telling. Something else I am going to have a problem with though, is you, if you don’t fall in line.

DIETRICH
I know how myself and my team are getting out but what about you? You’ll be searched for sure.

MURRAY
I was thinking of engaging in a good old fashioned fire fight. A bit of gunplay. I dare say that the way we came in is blocked by now.

DIETRICH
I’d say that’s a fair bet.

But there’s a wall straight across the outer corridor from this room. There used to be a doorway there. You hit it with the right amount of ordinance, it should fall in one go. Instant exit.

MURRAY
Good advice. I appreciate it.

DIETRICH
Well you went through a lot to find us. I’d hate to see you die on the way out.

Now you people better leave.

GUNFIRE SOUNDS from SOMEWHERE OUTSIDE THE ROOM.

MURRAY
Good point. Let’s go.

MURRAY, NIGHTINGALE and TINKERBELL take UP POSITIONS AT THE DOOR.

MURRAY
Are you going to be okay?

This isn’t exactly what you trained for.

NIGHTINGALE
Because a grounding in basic quantum physics really prepares for you for tactical situations like this.

You’re not the only one who’s been busy the last eighteen months. I’ve been on the firing range. And I am a military doctor. Don’t be so patronising.

MURRAY
Okay, I was just wondering because last time I checked, you couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn.

NIGHTINGALE
You want to shut up now, mister?

MURRAY
Probably a smart idea.

NIGHTINGALE
If you want to keep your cojones, yeah.

MURRAY OPENS the DOOR.

THEY RUN INTO.

28. INT. THE PADDOCK. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

The CORRIDOR from EARLIER. PLAYBOY, HOTSHOT and CASPAR are CROUCHING BEHIND a MAKESHIFT BARRICADE made of FENCE PANELS and ODD PIECES of MASONRY. They FIRE OVER the BARRICADE at OBSIDIAN GUARD at the BOTTOM of A SET of STAIRS INTO THE CORRIDOR.

MURRAY, TINKERBELL and NIGHTINGALE RUN to the BARRICADE.

HOTSHOT
Its about time you turned up. How long does it take to make a simple resistance contact?

MURRAY
Whine, whine, whine, that’s all I’m hearing. Where’s the thanks.   I did get you out of the house didn’t I?

HOTSHOT
Only so we could babysit Caspar.

MURRAY
I’ve been warning you for weeks to lay off him. You didn’t listen so I made you into a couple of childminders.

PLAYBOY
Oh, nice.

HOTSHOT
Are these guys ever going to give in?

MURRAY
What do you think?

HOTSHOT
Yeah, that’s what I thought. And we’re running out of ammunition. Got any bright ideas to get us out of here?

MURRAY
Yeah we got one.

Actually it was Dietrichs idea.

And I was wrong about Dietrich, Playboy.

PLAYBOY
Yeah?

MURRAY
Yeah, she was a woman.

PLAYBOY
And I missed her.

MURRAY
Indeed so.

PLAYBOY
You let me miss out on her, B!

MURRAY
Playboy, you’re a graduate of the American Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, you were Top Gun at Miramar, you owe it to yourself not to refer to me as “B”. We’re not in the hood now, “homie”

Now does anyone have any explosives on them.

The CAMERA WHIPS AWAY from them and travels DOWN the CORRIDOR TOWARDS the OBSIDIAN GUARD. It TRAVELS QUICKLY UP the STAIRS UNTIL IT REACHES DE MORTE and LADY ERIS WALKING DOWN THEM.

LADY ERIS
Do you have the Resistance.

DE MORTE
We do, my lady. I have just received a report that we have them cornered in the Paddock.

LADY ERIS
Excellent, De Morte, Excellent, we have them now. The Earth forces won’t be able to make contact with them if they’re already gone. And then we can crush the MCC and then their dimension shall be ours for the taking.

A SQUARE of METAL on DE MORTE’S ARMOUR starts to GLOW BLUE. He TOUCHES IT.

DE MORTE
Yes, what is it.

OBSIDIAN TECHKNIGHT
(OVER COMMUNICATION LINK)
We’ve cornered the Resistance in the Paddock. Their backs are literally to the wall. But something is confusing me, my lord De Morte.

DE MORTE
What is confusing you. Speak now and don’t test my patience.

OBSIDIAN TECHKNIGHT
(OVER COMMUNICATION LINK)
Despite the fact that they should have had access to some basic energy based weapons that’s not attacking us with. They’re using primitive projectile weapons. We have no defence against such weapons. I’m losing men as soon as they’re getting here.

DE MORTE
Projectile weapons?

THEY STOP WALKING for A BEAT. DE MORTE looks at LADY ERIS.

LADY ERIS
The Earthers.

They START to RUN DOWN the STAIRS.

THE CAMERA WHIPS AWAY from THEM, DOWN the STAIRS, THROUGH the OBSIDIAN GUARD and ENDS UP BEHIND THE BARRICADE.

MURRAY
Okay, Tink. I need you to rig the C4 and PE4 that we’ve got and blow a hole in the weak part of that wall. We’ll cover you. Just try not to blow us all up.

TINKERBELL
Don’t you trust me?

MURRAY
Well everything else has gone pear shaped. I just don’t want you to screw the pooch by blowing us all to kingdom come.

TINKERBELL walks into a PEN DIRECTLY OPPOSITE the DOOR to the RENDEZVOUS ROOM. It is ROUND a CORRIDOR from the BARRICADE.

HOTSHOT
Aren’t these guys bored yet.

The OBSIDIAN GUARD STOP SHOOTING their ENERGY WEAPONS.

CASPAR
Obviously they heard you.

HOTSHOT
Somehow I doubt it.

PLAYBOY
What now, boss?

MURRAY
Goodness knows. But if we wait and see what they do we’re going to buy Tinkerbell more time to set the charges and get us out of here.

So let’s just wait. There’s got to be a reason why they halted their attack.

LADY ERIS
(Out of Shot)
Lieutenant Colonel Caleb Murray.

HOTSHOT
What the hell?!

MURRAY
Who’s asking and why do you want to know?

LADY ERIS
(Out of Shot)
The Commander in Chief of the Obsidian Guard. I want to talk to you. Just you and me. In the corridor between our forces. That way your men can cover you and mine can cover me.
No weapons.

MURRAY
Obviously.

He STARTS to HAND his SIDEARM and MP5 to HOTSHOT.

NIGHTINGALE
You’re not thinking of going out there, are you?

MURRAY
Of course I am. It buys us time.

CASPAR
What if they fire on you.

MURRAY
They won’t. Lets face it, we might be taking down large numbers of their men but we’ve got limited ammunition. And they have far superior numbers. If they wanted to, they could keep this battle going until we run out of ammo and they choke us out with the amount of men. This buys us time.

So yes I’m going out there. It’ll also give me a chance to size up our enemy.

HOTSHOT
What about when the charge is set?

MURRAY
Shelter behind something, send a test signal to my radio fifteen seconds before you blow it. Also contact Dave, tell him to be ready to pick us up.

Okay, wish me luck.

PLAYBOY
You know it, boss.

MURRAY CLIMBS over THE BARRICADE and INTO THE CORRIDOR.

LADY ERIS is STANDING in the MIDDLE of the CORRIDOR. Her MEN are AT the STAIRS. BODIES of TECHKNIGHTS and GUARDSMEN LIE EVERYWHERE. DE MORTE is STOOD a LITTLE BEHIND LADY ERIS.

MURRAY
You want to talk, lose your attack dog.

DE MORTE
(GROWLING)
You will pay for your insolence with your life.

MURRAY
I might, but when you growl at people like that, attack dog is not really an insult, is it?

DE MORTE GROWLS AGAIN.

MURRAY
Yeah, De Morte, really helping your case here aren’t you

LADY ERIS
Go back. Stay with the troops.

DE MORTE
But my lady!

LADY ERIS
Go to the troops. I can handle Caleb Murray.

DE MORTE
Many have underestimated this man. With Bloodhelm, he bested over 20 of my best men.

LADY ERIS
Well I don’t intend to underestimate anyone.

DE MORTE
But, my lady! I really must protest!

LADY ERIS
Do I have to give you a demonstration of my brand of discipline, my Lord De Morte.

She REACHES for her GLASSES.

DE MORTE
(SCARED)
Of course not, my lady.

He STARTS to WALK AWAY.

MURRAY
That’s it De Morte, run along now.

DE MORTE
It is not over between the two of us.

MURRAY
I’d be sorry if it was.

DE MORTE WALKS BACK to the OBSIDIAN GUARDSMEN.

LADY ERIS
Speaking of Lord Bloodhelm, where is the treacherous swine?

MURRAY
The treacherous swine is at this present moment, elsewhere.

You know how it is, he’s got a previous engagement already in his diary, sends his apologies, so sorry to have missed catching up with everybody.

LADY ERIS
I’d forgotten your talent for endless verbal insults and facetiousness.

MURRAY
I’m sorry, have we met, Miss…

LADY ERIS
My name is Lady Eris.

And yes, we have.

MURRAY
Eris, Greek Goddess of Strife, Discord and Spite.

That means somebody who’s been through the Chambers.

But I haven’t met anybody here except…

LADY ERIS
We have met. Caleb Murray.

MURRAY
Yes, we have. It explains why De Morte felt the need to be out here.

He SHOUTS to DE MORTE.

DE MORTE
I wouldn’t want to be you when Bloodhelm catches. And if he doesn’t, I’ll rip your heart out for him. You got my word on that.

LADY ERIS
I can see you’ve got a good grasp of the situation. There is no reason for you to be here. You and your friends can leave and Bloodhelm can submit himself to the tender mercies of a Liberation Chamber.

MURRAY
Going through that chamber must have addled your brains, Eris.

This only gives us one more reason to take the whole system down, starting with the chambers.

And you think we don’t know that De Morte’s little escapade to Earth wasn’t a prelude to all out invasion.

Give us a little credit. You think you’re holding all the cards but you’ve got it all wrong, my dear.

LADY ERIS
Look around you, you’re in a dead end corridor deep in the Arcadian countryside, far from your homebase. You’ve got no way out and you’re facing one of the newborn of the chambers.

She STARTS to TAKE OFF her GLASSES.

We ONLY SEE MURRAY’S REACTION to THE REMOVAL of her GLASSES.

MURRAY
Physical transformation as a result of contact with a Liberation Chamber. Fascinating.

LADY ERIS
You don’t sound surprised.

MURRAY
I’m not. But what are you going to do? Kill me with your stare.

MURRAY’S RADIO BEEPS.

LADY ERIS
It had crossed my mind. Just need to get a little closer if you don’t mind.

She WALKS TOWARDS HIM.

MURRAY
Sorry, to cut this cosy little tete-a-tete short but I have to go.

He THROWS HIMSELF to the GROUND.

The SHOCKWAVE from the C4 HITS LADY ERIS and BLOWS HER to the GROUND.

CUT TO BLACK.

LADY ERIS’ Point of View. She GRADUALLY OPENS her EYES. She SEES DE MORTE STANDING OVER HER.

She PUTS her GLASSES on.

The CORRIDOR is FILLED with RUBBLE. The WAY TO THE BARRICADE is BLOCKED.

DE MORTE
They’re gone, my lady.

LADY ERIS
I can see that, you idiot, now get after them!

CUT TO.

29. EXT. THE RACEGROUNDS. FRODINGHAM TOWNSHIP. DAY.

The BIFROST SQUAD run OUT into the STADIUM their WEAPONS at the READY. OBSIDIAN GUARD START FIRING at them. INNOCENT PEOPLE get SHOT as they do. The TEAM CROUCH behind THE STADIUMS UPTURNED SEATING.

MURRAY
Where’s Dave. We need to get out of her now.

HOTSHOT
He should be here any moment, his last contact before Tinkerbell set the charge said that he was five minutes out.

MURRAY
When he gets here I want you and Playboy in the Cockpit. Make sure you send Dave and Fletcher into the main compartment.

HOTSHOT
Yes, sir. But why do you want them to stay in the main compartment.

MURRAY
To stop either of them from doing something stupid. Okay?

HOTSHOT
Yes sir.

TINKERBELL
Here they come.

The CAMERA SHOWS the OPEN ROOF of the STADIUM. Suddenly the SUPPORT CRAFT comes INTO VIEW.

EVERYTHING gets WINDY as if BEING UNDERNEATH a HELICOPTERS BLADES.

The SUPPORT CRAFT OPENS FIRE on the OBSIDIAN GUARD.

It STARTS to FLY LOWER UNTIL it is HOVERING JUST ABOVE the GROUND.

The MEMBERS of THE TEAM SHOUT to be HEARD above the SOUND of the SUPPORT CRAFT.

MURRAY
Let’s go. Times a wasting.

They RUN INTO the SUPPORT CRAFT, HOTSHOT, PLAYBOY and CASPAR FIRST, THEN NIGHTINGALE. FINALLY TINKERBELL and MURRAY STAND on the OPEN BACK HATCH DOOR of the CRAFT, with their GUNS POINTED OUT.

MURRAY HITS an INTERCOM BUTTON.

MURRAY
Okay we’re in. Let’s go.

HOTSHOT
(OVER INTERCOM)
10-4. Colonel.

THE SUPPORT CRAFT starts to RISE. MURRAY and TINKERBELL STILL STAND on the OPEN HATCHWAY.

DE MORTE and LADY ERIS run out of A STADIUM DOORWAY. A man RUNS into LADY ERIS. She STABS HIM.

They RUN to the EDGE of the RACETRACK and LOOK UP. THEY are JUST in time to SEE the HATCHWAY CLOSE.

LADY ERIS
Launch ships after them.

And tell them we want the Argent Guards Widowmaker Squadron.

Don’t let them get away. I want Murray’s head on a platter.

CUT TO.

30. INT. SUPPORT CRAFT. DAY.

MURRAY, TINKERBELL, NIGHTINGALE and CASPAR sit ON BENCHES SET AGAINST THE WALL of the SUPPORT CRAFT’S MAIN SECTION.

DAVE and FLETCHER are STANDING IN THE MIDDLE of the ROOM.

DAVE
So what did we get?

MURRAY
A promise of further negotiations.

DAVE
Wonderful.

MURRAY
Not exactly a good days work but it’ll do.

We got the beginnings of a relationship with the resistance and we were able to size up the opposition.

CASPAR
Seems they’ve got new leadership. Some girl called Eris.

MURRAY
Thanks for saying that Caspar.

CASPAR
What did I say something wrong?

DAVE
Who is she? I haven’t heard of her before.

FLETCHER
I have, she’s new. Took command about two years ago.

They say she came through the chambers.

Word is she used to be some high ranking member of court before then.

DAVE
Cal, why did Hotshot and Playboy relieve me and Fletch from duty?

MURRAY
Because I didn’t want you in charge of heavy machinery or near a weapons console in case Caspar opened his big mouth, which in the event, he did. Or in case you saw her through the cockpit window. Not that you’d recognise her.

DAVE
It’s her?

MURRAY
Yes.

DAVE
That monster put her through the chamber?

MURRAY
Yes.

DAVE
He put my kid sister through that.

MURRAY
This, Caspar, is why you need to keep your mouth shut.

DAVE
(SHOUTS)
Athena!

Were you going to tell me?

MURRAY
The moment we got back to the MCC.

I didn’t want you hulking out here.

So was I right to think that, are you going to keep it together? Or are we going to have to tie you down until we get back.

DAVE
You should have told me before we left the Racegrounds.

MURRAY
No, I shouldn’t and you know it. You would have jeopardised everybody else’s safety, not just your own. And what would you have done if you had got to her, huh?! She would have either tried to kill you or dragged you off to a chamber.

We get back to the MCC, we can make plans, instead of blundering about in the dark hoping we succeed.

DAVE
I’m going to kill De Morte.

MURRAY
I told him and I also intimated to him that if you didn’t manage it then I’d rip his heart out.

Now can we please leave your crazy time until we get back to the MCC.

DAVE
We will get her back.

MURRAY
If we have to drag her kicking and screaming.

DAVE
Okay.

MURRAY
Good.

NOISES are COMING FROM THE COCKPIT.

MURRAY
What now!

He CLIMBS UP the SMALL FLIGHT of STAIRS to the COCKPIT. As he is NEARLY at the TOP, THE CRAFT JERKS and NEARLY KNOCKS HIM FROM HIS FEET.

HE ENTERS THE COCKPIT.

HOTSHOT and PLAYBOY are SEATED AT THE CRAFT’S CONTROLS. They APPEAR to BE FIGHTING OVER THEM.

HOTSHOT
Get off, I’m flying this thing.

PLAYBOY
You couldn’t fly a paper airplane.

HOTSHOT
I can fly better than you with my eyes closed.

MURRAY
What do you think you’re doing? Just fly the thing. I don’t care who flies. Just do it. Because you’re putting me in a seriously bad mood right now.

PLAYBOY
We’re getting something on the radar. Enemy fighter craft.

MURRAY
Right, that settles it, Playboy, you’re the fighter pilot. You fly this thing, Hotshot will co-pilot and Dave, Tink and I will man the guns.

He WALKS BACK OUT of THE COCKPIT.

MURRAY
And try to keep your hands to yourself.

He WALKS INTO THE MAIN COMPARTMENT.

MURRAY
Okay, Tink and Dave, man the side guns. I’m tail end Charlie. Caspar try to contact the MCC.

NIGHTINGALE
And what am I supposed to do?

MURRAY
Sit and pray.

     Oh and keep Fletch company.

NIGHTINGALE
I see.

MURRAY RUNS to the BACK of the MAIN COMPARTMENT, down a SMALL CORRIDOR and PULLS OPEN A HATCH.

HE is IN A GUN ROOM with A CLEAR CANOPY. THE CAMERA QUICKLY CUTS BETWEEN HIM, DAVE and TINKERBELL who are IN IDENTICAL ROOMS.

MURRAY
Ready! Here they come!

AN OUTSIDE VIEW of the SUPPORT CRAFT. ARCADIAN CRAFT WITH A SILVER COLOURING are FOLLOWING THEM. The SUPPORT CRAFT DIVES towards the GROUND. THE GUNS START FIRING.

DAVE
(V.O.)
Cal, those fighter craft are Argent guard. The Widowmaker squadron.

MURRAY
(V.O.)
I’m assuming that they’re aptly named?

DAVE
(V.O.)
You could say that.

The SUPPORT CRAFT MAKES EVASIVE MANOEVURES, FLYING through the ARGENT GUARD. Some of the ARGENT GUARD are SHOT DOWN.

TINKERBELL
(V.O.)
They don’t seem so tough.

MURRAY
(V.O.)
There are more of them than us, remember that. We’re still going to need support and we’re still only half way back to the MCC.

Caspar have you got through to them yet.

CASPAR
Just establishing a connection now.

CUT TO.

31. INT. MOBILE COMMAND CENTRE CONTROL ROOM. DAY.

FREDERICKSON and WILLIAMSON are MANNING CONSOLES in the CONTROL ROOM. FREDERICKSON is ASLEEP with HIS HEAD on A CONSOLE. WILLIAMSON is LEANT BACK in HIS CHAIR LISTENING to AN MP3 PLAYER.

THE RADIO CRACKLES INTO LIFE.

CASPAR
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
MCC, Come in. This Bifrost Recon Alpha. Please respond.

WILLIAMSON DOESN’T HEAR. FREDERICKSON MUTTERS something in HIS SLEEP.

CASPAR
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Repeat, this is Bifrost Recon Alpha. Respond.

I’m getting no response. I’ve got an open channel. And they are receiving I know they are.

MURRAY
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Who’s on watch duty.

NIGHTINGALE
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Freaky and Weirdo.

MURRAY
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Just great! They have on watch duty a month and it has to be now. Could our day get any worse!

Caspar, can you turn the volume up on our radio call?

CASPAR
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Of course. But why?

MURRAY
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Just do it. All the way up.

CASPAR
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Okay.

MURRAY
(DISTORTED, BUT VERY LOUD, OVER RADIO)
Wake up!

The LOUD RADIO wakes FREDERICKSON who TRIES to WAKE WILLIAMSON but ONLY SUCCEEDS in KNOCKING WILLIAMSON of HIS CHAIR.

WILLAMSON
What the hell are you doing, Freaky?

FREDERICKSON
Something woke me up. I think it was the radio.

MURRAY
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
You’re damn right it was the radio.

WILLIAMSON
Was that?

FREDERICKSON
Colonel Murray.

MURRAY
(DISTORTED OVER RADIO)
Once again your ability to grasp the bleeding obvious astounds me.

Now we’ll deal with the fact that you were sleeping on duty when I get back but for now, sound a fighter alert, alert Colonel Jensen and get someone who can actually do their jobs to relieve you two.

We’re coming in hot with half the Arcadian military on our tail.

And Weirdo? If you put those earphones back in, I’ll break your arms.

WILLIAMSON
How did he know?

FREDERICKSON
How does he know anything?

He REACHES for A BIG RED BUTTON on THE CONSOLE in FRONT of HIM.

CUT TO.

32. INT. MOBILE COMMAND CENTRE FIGHTER BAY. DAY.

AN ALARM SOUNDS. FIGHTER PILOTS run to THEIR JETS in THEIR CRADLES. THEY CLIMB IN. FREDERICKSON’S VOICE comes OVER THE FIGHTER BAY INTERCOM.

FREDERICKSON

Attention, Attention. This is not a drill. Repeat, this is not a drill. Bifrost Recon Alpha is inbound with hostile craft on its tail. Prepare to launch.

CUT TO.

33. INT. MOBILE COMMAND CENTRE CONTROL ROOM. DAY.

An ALARM BLARES. RED LIGHTS FLASH.

JENSEN walks INTO the CONTROL ROOM. FREDERICKSON and WILLIAMSON are STILL at THEIR CONSOLES.

JENSEN

Report!

FREDERICKSON

Bifrost Recon Alpha is inbound with unknown number of active hostile contacts.

Two FEMALE OFFICERS enter the CONTROL ROOM and TAKEOVER the POSITIONS of FREDERICKSON and WILLIAMSON.

FREDERICKSON

Fighters are ready to launch.

JENSEN

Thank you, Lieutenant. Lieutenant, launch fighters.

FEMALE LIEUTENANT

Launching fighters, aye, sir.

CUT TO.

34. INT. MOBILE COMMAND CENTRE FIGHTER BAY. DAY.

MECHANICS and TECHNICIANS RUN from THE FIGHTERS.

THE FIGHTER BAY FLOOR OPENS UP.

The CRADLES DROP THE JETS.

The CAMERA follows the JETS as THEY FLY OUT.

CUT TO.

35. EXT. SKIES ABOVE ARCADIA. DAY.

The SUPPORT CRAFT is MAKING EVASIVE MANOEVURES and SHOOTING DOWN ITS FAIR SHARE of ARGENT GUARD.

MURRAY

(V.O)

Hotshot, distance to the MCC?

HOTSHOT

(V.O.)

Ten Clicks and closing.

DAVE

(V.O.)

I’m nearly out of ammo.

MURRAY

(V.O.)

We have to hold on. We’re not that far out.

TINKERBELL

(V.O.)

There’s too many of them.

SUDDENLY a MISSILE ENTERS the FRAME and SHOOTS DOWN an ARGENT GUARD CRAFT.

MURRAY

(V.O.)

What was that?

VALKYRIE

(V.O.)

This is Major Christina Lindstrom of the Mobile Command Centre Humber. Stand down or be destroyed.

MURRAY

(V.O.)

Major, it’s good to hear your voice.

VALKYRIE

Thank you, sir.

If you don’t mind, I’m going to engage in some pest control.

Over the NEXT TWO MINUTES, the FIGHTER JETS ENGAGE in DOG FIGHTS with the ARGENT GUARD until the ARGENT GUARD RETREAT.

VALKYRIE

(V.O.)

They’re bugging out.

Your path is clear all the way to the nest, Bifrost Recon Alpha.

PLAYBOY

Thanks a lot babe.

The SUPPORT CRAFT FLIES TOWARDS the MCC that can be SEEN in the DISTANCE.

CUT TO.

36. INT. MOBILE COMMAND CENTRE CONFERENCE ROOM. DAY.

MURRAY, DAVE and JENSEN are SAT AROUND the TABLE. MR BROWNING is ON the MAIN SCREEN.

BROWNING

Not bad, Lieutenant Colonel.

But can she be trusted?

MURRAY

Who knows? But she did help us escape, we never would have made our way out of the Racegrounds if it wasn’t for her advice.

DAVE

We can’t expect immediate trust here, sir. Even with everything that the Liberation Chambers have brought down upon them, these people are still by loyalty to the royal family and the aristocracy.

MURRAY

He’s right sir.

This is basically a feudal society still. A feudal society with advanced technology admittedly but a feudal society nonetheless.

I think the resistance is real enough and I do think she can be trusted. But on some level this still feels like out and out treachery to them, even with everything that’s gone on.

We have to earn their trust and it’s going to take time.

BROWNING

Understood.

Now on to a rather delicate matter.

The appearance of Bloodhelm’s sister.

Athena, is it?

DAVE

That’s right, sir. She’s my kid sister.

BROWNING

And I understand that she’s been through the chambers and is now calling herself Lady Eris.

MURRAY

That’s correct, sir.

BROWNING

You do realise that if this gets out we could be under even more pressure from Star Chamber to have the operation turned over to them.

JENSEN

Are they still making the situation worse?

BROWNING

When don’t they make the situation worse? But the last thing we need is for it to become common knowledge that our chief advisor on Arcadian military matters is the brother of the leader of the Obsidian Guard.

So I’ve already talked to Colonel Jensen and I’m going to bury this report. The only people who’ll ever know about it are the people on your expeditionary team, myself and Colonel Jensen. If we need to we’ll tell people on a need to know basis.

All I need to know is, can you be objective about the situation?

DAVE

She’s my sister. So there’s a side to me that wants to say know to that question but I’m also aware that one of the reasons that this was done was almost certainly because of the effect it would have on me.

They want to get to me and they’re using my sister to do it.

So I have to be objective, for her sake.

BROWNING

That’s good enough for me.

You can go now.

MURRAY and DAVE walk out of the CONFERENCE ROOM into A CORRIDOR.

MURRAY

Are you sure you’re going to be okay?

DAVE

Well, maybe I wouldn’t go that far. But I’ll survive.

It’s all I know how to do.

MURRAY

We will get her back. I promise you.

DAVE

I know. I just wish she hadn’t had to go through that.

I failed her two years ago.

MURRAY

I was there, remember. There was nothing more you could have done. Trust me.

They’ve got a poker game starting in a couple of minutes. You want to come? Deprive Caspar of more money?

DAVE

Now there’s an offer difficult to refuse.

MURRAY

It’s pretty much free money.

I think even Fletch might play.

DAVE

Really.

MURRAY

I think Athena was as much a shock for him as for you. Up until now, I think he was still hoping everything would go back to normal on its own. Now he knows that he’s going to be here for a while.

DAVE

He knows he can’t isolate himself.

MURRAY

I think so.

Anyway, it’s been a long day, old friend. But tomorrow is a brand new one.

“DAYS” (KIRSTY MACOLL VERSION) starts to PLAY OVER A MONTAGE

DAVE and MURRAY ARRIVING at the POKER GAME along with FLETCH and THE OTHER MEMBERS of the CREW who were at the POKER GAME in SCENE ONE.

WILLIAMSON and FREDERICKSON CLEAN LATRINES.

BROWNING and JENSEN talk in THE CONFERENCE ROOM.

THE CAMERA PANS ACROSS DAVE’S ROOM and RESTS ON A PICTURE of THE BOY AND GIRL from ERIS’S FLASHBACK EARLIER.

The CAMERA pulls OUT FROM THE PICTURE and WE SEE THAT IT is ANOTHER PICTURE in ANOTHER ROOM. A BLACK ROOM. ERIS’S ROOM.

She is SAT ALONE LOOKING at the PHOTOGRAPH. A SOLITARY TEAR TRAVELS DOWN her FACE.

END CREDITS.
